Common Threads’ unique approach to educating children about nutrition and cooking drives long-term behavior change. Our research-based methodology addresses the many factors that influence a child’s decision making. We address students’ personal factors by teaching cooking skills to inspire confidence in the kitchen and new attitudes toward food, interpersonal factors by involving adult volunteers, students’ families and their peers, and environmental factors by including the surrounding community, organizations and schools.
Every day, we give kids and their families the tools to make smart decisions about what they eat. We take pride in making cooking fun by getting kids involved with every aspect of the kitchen and by exposing them to cuisine from around the world
